2015 Chrysler 300S

A full-size family sedan with power and comfort, sans the heavy price-tag.

The Chrysler 300S gets a mild facelift for the 2015 model year. New headlight treatments make this full-size sedan a little more contemporary looking, while a new 8-speed automatic transmission helps fuel economy. The 300 line remains a solid choice for those wanting a powerful and spacious family car without the high price of a luxury-brand’s offering. Especially with the optional 363-horsepower Hemi V8, the Chrysler 300 offers performance on a par with full size luxury sedans, but at a price point shared with midsize family cars.

The 300 gets Chrysler’s rotary-dial gear selector knob, which takes some getting used to but works well enough. We found it a little odd that the control for the transmission looked so much like something that would control the air conditioner or the radio. The electric power steering was fine, but lacked sportiness.

While the Dodge Charger which shares the Chrysler 300’s platform, is sportier and more aggressive, the 300 remains a well-rounded full-size sedan. Most buyers opt for the V6 model, which delivers slightly better combined fuel economy at the expense of the Hemi V8’s torque and more pleasant sound.
