Deschutes Brewery Red Chair NWPA

Deschutes Brewery Red Chair NWPA has a hoppiness moderated by citrus flavors

This winter beer is appropriately named after the oldest operating chairlift at Mt Bachelor, not far from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon.

Not only does the name invoke winter sports, but also the reddish hue of this Northwest Pale Ale. While pale ales may not be what usually come to mind when you think of winter beers, this red ale is visibly darker as well as stronger at 6.2 percent alcohol by volume. You'll definitely feel its effect as you shake off the winter chill, but you'll hardly notice the alcoholic bite. The Red Chair NWPA goes down amazingly smooth, its hoppiness moderated by citrus flavors.

Enjoy this red ale on its own after a cold day on the slopes or pair with a hot, crispy pizza. At 192 calories per bottle the Red Chair NWPA is definitely not a light beer, but with this much flavor and potency you won't need to drink a whole six-pack. We only wish this seasonal ale was available all year round.
