First released in January 2015, New Belgium's spring seasonal celebrates the snowmelt and pays tribute to Cache la Poudre River, the source of water for the brewery.
This beer pours an opaque deep brown color with a ruby red tint that's visible when held up to the light. It wafts aromas of coffee, chocolate and almonds, compliments of the Munich, black and chocolate malts. Flavors of sweet vanilla are tempered with a roasted bitterness. It concludes with a clean, crisp finish that is surprisingly refreshing for such a dark brew, making this easy-drinking session beer a perfect companion for a spring day.
