Petrus Aged Red is fermented with fresh cherries

This Belgian ale begins with a base of oud bruin (old brown beer) that undergoes an aging process in microorganism-infected oak barrels.

It is then mixed with the brewery's Petrus Aged Pale to provide a touch of dryness. During fermentation, fresh cherries are added to ward off the beer's sour and acidic bite. With its deceptively high alcohol content, dry finish, beautiful burgundy appearance and sweet cherry aromas, it's no wonder this ale has a label emblazoned with "The Key to Heaven."
