Bill Covaleski, Brewmaster & President of the Pennsylvania-based Victory Brewing Company, trained in Germany and uses a German-made brewing system in his brewery.
Not surprisingly, his experience in traditional brewing methods combined with his creativity as an American brewer make him an excellent candidate to craft a signature brew in the Oktoberfest style. The use of German malts and hops lends to the authenticity of this beer. Designed as a party beer, this 5.6 percent lager pours a clear amber hue, starts with a malty nose and malty sweet flavor, and ends with a nutty and refreshing finish. An easy-drinking brew, the malt flavor is dominant but not overpowering. The acidity of tomatoes in pizza balance well with the sweetness of the malt, which will also complement grilled chicken rubbed with garlic, salt and pepper. Available on draft year-round at the brewery, it's also offered in bottles during the fall months.
