The classic Gin Martini is simple and delicious: London dry gin, dry vermouth and a lemon peel for garnish

James Bond may order this drink shaken, not stirred, but there's a practical reason to use a spoon.

Shaking chips the ice and clouds the libation, whereas stirring in even circles results in a clear liquid, yielding a more sophisticated sip.

Ingredients:
1/2 oz. dry vermouth
3 oz. London dry gin
Lemon twist for garnish

Instructions:
Pour the vermouth and gin in an ice-filled mixing glass. Stir rapidly with a bar spoon until the glass is chilled. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the lemon twist.
