Louis Royer Cognac Force 53 VSOP Fine Champagne

Louis Royer Cognac Force 53 VSOP Fine Champagne is 53 percent alcohol, a good deal higher than the usual 40 percent

Louis Royer established his eponymous Cognac house in 1853 after honing his craft as a cellar master, and made a name for himself by producing spirits with grapes from all six regions of Cognac.

The Force 53 VSOP Fine Champagne is a blend of Cognacs from Grande Champagne and Petit Champagne and is 53 percent alcohol, a good deal higher than the usual 40 percent. It's also the reason for its name, as well as a reference to the year the house was born. The bouquet opens with aromas of vanilla, plum and tobacco, while on the palate, flavors of oak, apricot and floral notes lead to a warm finish with a nice bite.
