Basil Hayden's

Basil Hayden's has aromas of citrus, spice and peppermint

The lightest bodied of the Jim Beam portfolio of small-batch bourbons, Basil Hayden's gets its name from a Maryland man who led a group of families to Kentucky, and mixed rye into his bourbon mash to give it an added spice.

To this day, this rule-breaking whiskey's recipe has stayed almost exactly the same, and has aromas of citrus, spice and peppermint on the nose. Its lighter body allows flavors of cinnamon, caramel, lemon and rye spice to mingle on the palate, while its dry, crisp finish is ideal for a bourbon of its kind. If not straight up, use this lighter bourbon in place of vodka in a Bloody Mary — it adds an extra layer of depth.
