Astar rests in slow growth American oak barrels made from early wood that is toasted using a process so secret, the folks at Glenmorangie claim that even they have no clue what goes on at the cooperage. Whatever they're doing to that wood, it’s certainly working. (And Glenmorangie's head whiskymaker Dr. Bill Lumsden is no slouch either, mind you.) Astar is as sublime a single-malt Scotch as you're likely to find at any price point. We like to think of Astar as our go-to "dessert whisky."
