89th Annual Academy Awards
Jimmy Kimmel is the first-time host of the 89th Annual Oscars.
It's Hollywood's biggest night when the 89th Academy Awards take place at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood on Sunday, February 26, 2017. The show airs live on ABC at 7 PM EST with Jimmy Kimmel hosting. The event celebrates the best in cinema, and GAYOT's Guide to the Oscars is your ticket to the big night, with movie reviews and the top spots to live like an A-lister in Los Angeles.
Of course, no celebration is complete without a toast.
Piper-Heidsieck, the exclusive Champagne of the Oscars, will be pouring 1,400 bottles — that’s more than 12,000 glasses of Champagne. Enjoy a sparkling Piper-Heidsieck cocktail you can make at home with this easy recipe.
Also, this year Francis Ford Coppola Winery will be the only wine poured at the Academy Awards and Governors Ball. About 2,200 bottles of wine (10,000 glasses) will be poured, including two limited-edition Director's Cut "Cinema Premiere 89th Edition" wines.
Once again, Wolfgang Puck Catering is doing the culinary honors with 10 kilos of American farm-raised caviar; 7,500 individual shrimp; 250 Maine lobsters; 800 stone crab claws; 15 pounds of winter black truffles from Burgundy; 20 gallons of house-made gelato; 1,050 handmade waffle cones; 2,000 assorted cookies; 30 pounds of edible gold dust and 7,000 mini chocolate Oscars.
