America's most popular peanut butter brand was founded in 1958.

The leading peanut butter brand since 1981 took first place in our blind taste test. This was surprising to us considering we thought we'd prefer a more natural option, and yet it wasn't surprising at all considering the long history of Jif's dominance as the peanut butter we all grew up eating. (Don't underestimate the impact of nostalgia on one's taste buds.)

The recipe includes sugar and molasses for a more sweetened flavor and has likely contributed to its popularity through the years, although we wish they'd do away with the hydrogenated oil and mono/diglycerides. After all these years, can't you keep it healthier, Jif?

We enjoyed the classic flavor that we grew up with (it's what we think peanut butter should taste like) and the creamy texture, even if it is a bit on the sticky side.

Likes: Classic peanut butter flavor, great creamy texture, balance of sweet and salty

Dislikes: Slightly sticky texture, questionable ingredients

Ingredients: Roasted peanuts, sugar, molasses, fully hydrogenated vegetable oil, mono/diglycerides, salt

Notes: Non-GMO, gluten-free, 190 calories (serving size: 2 tbsp)
