RITZ PARIS IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS.
THE RITZ PARIS IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS & WILL REOPEN IN DECEMBER 2015. Swiss hotelier César Ritz founded the Ritz Paris in 1898. The atmosphere was so luxurious that the word “ritzy” was coined after him. The palace on the magnificent Place Vendôme, now owned by Mr. Al Fayed and his family, closed its doors during the summer of 2012 for more than three years of major renovations. The property will reopen in December 2015 with fully transformed suites, new technologies, a spa by Chanel, a tea lounge and a new garden. Dining options will include L'Espadon, as well as restaurant-bar venues Bar Vendome and Ritz Bar. Specialty cocktails can also be found at Bar Hemingway. Once reopened, the Ritz Paris is sure to keep César Ritz’s motto alive for many more years to come: “My job is to anticipate what my clients want next.”
