Contemporary concept hotel with designer touches and an upscale, trendy crowd.
This is London's sole "unbranded" Hilton hotel, meaning it is Hilton only in ownership; you certainly won't find anything chain-like about this upscale place. Staff is welcoming and not at all stuffy --- a rare case for such a highbrow hotel. The rooms are tastefully done in shades of cream and brown, with halogen lights brightening up the walnut wood furniture. Other furnishings include pendular lamps, featherlight curtains and comfortable armchairs and sofas, as well as flat-screen TVs and CD and DVD players. The windows of many rooms offer views of Trafalgar Square. A nice personal touch: each night a new type of lip balm, cream or lotion is left on your pillow. Bathrooms feature fabulous aromatherapy toiletries and baths with room for two. The very large studios feel like private apartments. Above it all, the hotel has a roof garden that offers incredible views of London and is sensibly equipped with a great cocktail bar. It's one of best reasons for summer to arrive in the city and attracts a fashion and film media set for press launches most of the week.
