A high-rise Residence Inn stands tall.
Tucked in-between Sherbrooke street and De Maisonneuve boulevard in downtown Montréal, this high-rise hotel stands tall, rising high above busy Peel street and almost coming face to face with Montréal’s urban mountain, Mont Royal. Just a block away is the vibrant St. Catherine street and an entrance to Montréal’s underground pedestrian pathway, a gem of urban renewal in a city that is frigid for most of the winter. Also nearby is the Place Ville Marie, Chinatown and the cafés and shops of Plateau Mont Royal. This skyscraping hotel boasts 24 floors, 190 rooms and plenty of meeting space. The lobby tries hard to be relevant. It has a nice ambiance, furnishings and is even the setting for complimentary snacks, but seems to get little guest use---perhaps because they have it all in their rooms. Accommodations are either studios or one-bedroom suites and all feature fully-equipped kitchens. Room décor is clean and casual, not overdone. Bright colors and large windows let in lots of light no matter how cold it is outside. The hotel sports a rooftop, indoor swimming pool, small exercise room, and a terrace on the 23rd floor. Wireless Internet access is available throughout.
