A hip urban hotel with eclectic décor that engages guests while pampering at the same time.
A visit to the Templar Hotel is anything but ordinary. An eight-year project of designer Del Terrelonge, the hotel serves as a gallery, with visual art and installations displayed on all floors. If a particular piece of art or furniture happens to strike a guest's fancy, it's worth asking if the piece is for sale. There are only 27 rooms, each luxuriously outfitted with marble, Egyptian cotton linens, silk-stuffed pillows, iPads and chic toiletries from Red Flower. In the loft space, suites have balconies and private kitchens with Miele appliances. The rooftop bar offers a sweeping view of the city skyline, including the iconic CN Tower. The property's Monk Kitchen restaurant features an open cooking area, and guests can look through the bottom of the sand-blasted swimming pool to the lounge below – while lounge patrons can spy up into the pool. The Onsen Spa is set in a minimalist Japanese garden and provides privacy, tranquility and indulgence. The hotel's location is central, nestled right in the heart of Toronto's bustling fashion and entertainment districts, approximately 30 minutes away from Toronto's International Airport and close to a host of restaurants, museums, shops and business parks.
