Chic hotel and spa located in the urban setting of West Sedona.
Sophisticated, stylish Sedona Rouge offers an upscale boutique hotel experience in the land of red rocks, vortexes and spas. Opened in mid-2005, the property boasts several interesting red glass installations in the entryway that mimic the surrounding red rocks (sending the message that this is a new level of Sedona chic). Red is an underlying theme throughout the property, while the 74 guest rooms and suites aspire to a Mediterranean-North African-Turkish design theme. They also have flat-screen TVs, antique vases and ironwork that blend surprisingly well. Most rooms surround a courtyard setting and the pool area has a fire pit and a hot tub. Reds Restaurant, the resort’s stylish bistro and bar, serves three meals a day in a setting appointed with cushy leather banquettes and warm wood finishes. The spa, emphasizing technicians who bring an impressive depth of experience to their work, offers all the expected treatments. Several meeting rooms, as well as a rooftop terrace and a garden, accommodate small, upscale executive gatherings. Because the property (although about twenty minutes outside of downtown) is close to the highway, be sure to request a room in the back. It’s the best way to ensure peace and quiet.
