San Luis Obispo's top-quality boutique inn.
This modern trio of lodges was built to echo classic architectural styles, namely Tudor, California Arts & Crafts and Greek Revival. Though it calls itself a bed-and-breakfast, the inn is really more like a boutique hotel. The emphasis is on luxury, but they don't nickel-and-dime guests for all of the wonderful extras. Equally poised for business or leisure travelers, every room comes with high-speed wireless Internet access, a work desk, flat-screen TV with DVD and CD players (there's a library of movies and music for guests to borrow from), a refrigerator and microwave, a marble bathroom with Aveda amenities, a gourmet coffee maker, and individual climate controls. Fluffy robes, magazines, and even chess sets can be provided upon request. More expensive rooms also have gas fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, or an open-air balcony overlooking the creek. The Craftsman lodge features oak Mission-style furnishings and original paintings by Californian artists. Rates include a filling continental breakfast and on weekends, wine and chocolate truffle cake in the afternoon.
