In January 2008, this hotel became the Langham Huntington, Pasadena. Expect numerous upgrades in the hotel's public areas. This historic property (originally opened in 1907), ideally located at the base of the San Gabriel mountains and convenient to downtown Los Angeles and the Valley, was restored to its turn-of-the-century grandeur by Ritz-Carlton in 1991, after languishing for several years due to earthquake damage. Its 368 guest rooms, 15 suites and ten cottages offer business and leisure travelers the high-quality accommodations and personal service associated with the Ritz-Carlton name. Guest rooms feature color TV, oversized closets, marble bathrooms with hair dryers and top-quality toiletries, three telephones with voice mail, work desk and more. The Ritz-Carlton Club on the seventh and eighth floors further pampers guests with such extras as a personal concierge and a private lounge offering five complimentary food and beverage presentations daily. The Terrace serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed open setting with contemporary Mediterranean-influenced California cuisine. The Dining Room, with its clublike feel, features Chef Craig Strong's take on contemporary cuisine with an emphasis on seasonally fresh ingredients, grilled meats and seafood. Both have private rooms for parties of twelve to fourteen. Traditional afternoon tea is served in The Lobby Lounge. Enjoy the many nearby attractions that include the Norton Simon Museum, Huntington Library (whose collection includes the original Blue Boy and Pinkie), Southwest Museum, Los Angeles Zoo, Dodger Stadium, Santa Anita Park, Mount Waterman and Mount Baldy ski resorts. After a day of business or sightseeing, relax with a massage or treat yourself to a facial in the spa and salon. The fitness center also includes steam, sauna, whirlpool, and cardiovascular, strength and aerobics facilities. A pro shop complements three tennis courts, and the outdoor swimming pool (a restoration of the first Olympic Size pool in California) is augmented with a whirlpool, sun deck and pool bar. Over 30,000 square feet of meeting space is available for conferences, business meetings, weddings and other social events.
