On a quiet stretch of Burton Way, just east of Beverly Hills' commercial district, the 119-room L'Ermitage is a pied-à-terre type hideaway. From the outside, the staid eight-story building belies the interior and its stylish yet simple contemporary décor. Here, in the pervasive, private club ambience, there's definitely a vibe of understated elegance and a subdued, residential feel. Even the basic rooms are almost twice the size of most luxury hotel rooms, and feature a living area, work area, sitting area, oversized marble bathroom, walk-in closet and vanity area, along with such standard amenities as a 40-inch TV monitor, a printer/fax/copier, a DVD player with complimentary DVDs, Bose speakers, a CD player and four phone lines including personal phone numbers and fax numbers. Complimentary perks include mini-bars customized with a selection of juices, sodas and waters, private local transportation available day and night, and magazines and newspapers in the lobby area. There's also a complimentary computer station for guests who don't want to fire up the notebook. House restaurant, LIVELLO, has closed and will be replaced by Avec Nous, a French bistro set to open in early 2016. offers Italian osteria-style dining with a focus on local ingredients. Guests (and only guests) can take advantage of the fitness center and rooftop pool with private cabanas and drop-dead views. The spa helps visitors unwind with aromatherapy, skincare and massage treatments. Need we add that the service is professional and nearly flawless?
