A beautiful playground with its own vineyard and golf course.
Once known mainly as a golf and tennis retreat, the 500-acre Carmel Valley Ranch has been reinvented to offer much more. The current iteration was inspired by the idea of a summer camp for adults; upon arrival, guests receive a treasure box of keepsakes, including lavender, honey and a field notebook. Averaging 800 square feet, the 129 guest suites feature travertine fireplaces, patios, iPod docking stations and spa bathrooms with Body Bliss bath amenities. Guests also enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access. Spa Aiyana looks out onto the treetops of the Santa Lucia Mountains, and an outdoor yoga platform encourages guests to commune with nature. Along with a signature restaurant, bar, fire pits, saltwater pool, infinity edge hot tub, tennis center and an eighteen-hole, Pete Dye-designed championship golf course, the resort offers a selection of truly unique experiences. Depending on the time of year, you can learn about beekeeping during a honey harvest, or you might simply relax on a plank swing in a secluded grove of ancient oak.
