A romantic and relaxing getaway in a cliffside coastal setting.
Perched 1,200 feet above the sea, this inn blends into the hillsides of Big Sur. It was built in the 1970s by producer Lawrence A. Spector, who used the money he made from the movie, "Easy Rider." No two rooms are alike, and accommodations are spread out over a number of buildings. Common amenities in all rooms include: oceanview terraces, wet bars and wood-burning fireplaces. Around the property, there are romantic pathways, two Japanese-style Jacuzzis, a spa, a fitness center and two swimming pools. The bathhouse also features a number of "clothing-optional" areas. The Restaurant at Ventana incorporates local ingredients into fresh California cuisine.
