Sleek style and an intimate spa make this hotel a standout in the quaint town of Calistoga.
Swanky is the name of the game at the Mount View, which offers a funky spin on Art Deco lodging in downtown Calistoga. While this boutique property is perhaps best known for its spa and on-site restaurants, it has 32 guest rooms that certainly merit attention. Standard rooms are named after movie stars from the 1930s; winery and balcony suites include claw-foot bathtubs and fully-stocked wet bars. The property also has a handful of "artist" cottages with private redwood decks and Jacuzzis. All guests have access to a business center and a beautiful outdoor heated pool, around which the hotel's owners serve complimentary wine and cheese every Friday night. The Mount View Spa features a menu of special baths, massages, facials and wraps. Two restaurants, JoLe and Barolo, serve noteworthy blends of California-, Italian- and Mediterranean-style cuisine.
