Luxury lodgings with a wine tasting cave in southern Napa Valley.
This upscale, 274-room property opened toward the end of 2006, and it remains one of the only high-end resorts in the southern part of Napa County. Despite its location at the back of an office park, the place is regularly hopping with independent travelers and corporate visitors. The U-shaped hotel frames a pool, hot tub, fire pit and bocce court that are open from sunrise 'til 10 p.m. A modest fitness center is also available. Perhaps the resort's biggest attraction is a 22,000-square-foot Estate Cave dug into the hillside. Wine tasting is offered in the cave's Estate Wine Bar. The property also features the full-service Spa Terra, complete with steam grottoes, soaking pools and Mediterranean-inspired décor with custom mosaics. Added attractions include on-site Siena restaurant, 24-hour room service and a complimentary shuttle to downtown Napa at all hours. For meetings, social events and weddings, a wealth of unique spaces range from the 10,500-square-foot Grand Meritage Ballroom to the event deck for up to 200 built into the hillside vineyards.
