This hotel offers a nod to jolly old England in an all-American location near Disneyland.
Kids love the idea of staying in a palace, and the exterior of this castle-like hotel, festooned with crisscrossing wooden beams, creates the desired illusion for wee ones rather nicely. Although the Old World vibe is somewhat tame inside, especially in comparison to the exterior, there exists enough English manor flavor to keep the embers of fantasyland sparked. Most notably, Brit ambience can be found in the meticulously kept rose garden and the smattering of authentic and reproduced antiques. A meandering stream and koi pond is also located on the grounds. Guest rooms offer a hint of England here and there, but in general they lean decidedly toward the design of a typical chain motel. The Disneyland compound is walking distance, just a couple blocks away.
