A historic hacienda-style hotel in the heart of charming Coronado village.

El Cordova Hotel

Originally built in 1902 as a mansion home for railroad tycoon Elisha Babcock (the founder of Coronado who built The Del), El Cordova underwent a series of transformations, eventually becoming the charming small hotel it is today. Many guest rooms have been redone in blue, red and rust hues that play off the Spanish tile. Wrought-iron pieces and colorful Mexican ceramics lend even more rustic elegance to the historic property. The hotel site houses a combination of single- and multi-room suites, as well as three restaurants (Bino’s Café, The Brigantine and Miguel’s Cocina) and twenty boutique shops. A number of the rooms boast small kitchens, full baths, big-screen TVs and balconies. There is meeting space able to host up to 30 people, as well as a new spa and swimming pool. The quaint village of Coronado is just outside the door. Children will delight in the nearby Fizziwigs Candy Factory --- a dazzling fantasyland of sweets. One of California's loveliest beaches is a short walk across the street, while downtown San Diego’s nightlife awaits just across the bridge.
