Understated elegance in an exclusive neighborhood.
This low-key gem in the swanky Nob Hill neighborhood recreates the experience of a stay in one of Europe's fine old hotels. Designed by Charles Gruwell and Anne Marie Delgado, the hotel's décor is classic yet contemporary. All of the 136 rooms are furnished with antiques, objets d'art and original paintings, as well as flat screen televisions, iPod docking stations and electronic safes. Marble bathrooms come standard with whirlpool tubs, hair dryers and plush bathrobes. The hotel boasts a modest fitness center, 24-hour business center and ample meeting space. Massages and skin treatments are the specialty at the Nob Hill Spa; the Premier Spa Suite offers a private spa experience for groups of five to ten. Also on-site, the Big 4 restaurant pays tribute to San Francisco's Victorian-era railroad magnates, and changes its menus seasonally.
