Refined European style in the heart of the Midwest.
This is one of the nation's premier hotels. It sits pretty atop Water Tower Place and is as ritzy as the name implies. This 435-room establishment completed a redesign in 2010 and is about as luxe as one can get, with State Suites larger than most apartments --- each even comes with its own baby grand piano. Silks cover the walls, the draperies are European, the marble is from Italy and Spain and the art is from around the world. If you bring along the kids, they'll receive a bag of complimentary gifts that include videos, toys, cookies and milk in the evening, as well as an abundance of baby supplies. Even Fido gets his own offering, and there's room service for him, too. He can also be groomed at the on-site kennel and walked, courtesy of the concierge department. Some might consider it a trifle excessive to offer caviar to cats, but a grand hotel must cater to every client's whims.
