An early nineteenth-century hotel on land originally owned by a Revolutionary War hero.
With a rich history dating back to the Revolutionary War, as well as 32 rooms and three suites spread throughout the main house and original carriage house, this is an elegant country-home-turned-luxury-hotel just 30 minutes outside Hartford. Each accommodation is individually styled and features nineteenth-century antiques, reproductions and fabrics. Rooms come with four-poster canopied beds with Belgian linens and goose down feather comforters, complimentary wireless Internet access, TVs and VCRs (there is an extensive movie library) and telephones with data ports; some also have pull-out sofa beds. The suites include intimate sitting areas, and one has a Jacuzzi tub for two. In the morning, newspapers are available in the lobby, and a deluxe complimentary breakfast buffet includes bagels, fresh fruit and freshly ground coffee. For recreation, there are nearby pool, fitness and tennis facilities available for guest use. Meeting space can accommodate up to 50 people; printing and fax services, along with professionally trained event staff, are on hand. Additionally, the inn is pet-friendly (for an $20 per night charge and a refundable $100 cleaning deposit). Complimentary van transportation to and from Bradley International Airport is offered with advance reservations.
