A reliable hotel in an upscale mega-resort complex.
Opened in the summer of 2003, this hotel is part of the new Grande Lakes Orlando resort. It shares the property with The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, which means its guests enjoy the best of both worlds. They can stay in a reasonably priced Marriott guest room (there are expensive ones, as well) while enjoying the upscale facilities associated with The Ritz. A few highlights include the Greg Norman-designed golf course and 40,000-square-foot spa with hydrotherapy and private lap pools. The 1,000 bedrooms and suites are tastefully decorated in a traditional style with warm colors and dark wood furnishings. All are designated Rooms that Work, featuring business-savvy extras such as laptop safes, speaker phones, voice mail and high-speed Internet access. You will be hard-pressed to find a standard amenity that doesn't exist here---gift shop, shoeshine, notary public and rental car desk, to name but a few. There are numerous dining venues on the premises, including French Brasserie, serving bistro style cuisine, and Primo, an Italian style restaurant with a wood-fired oven. The combined meeting and function space measures in at over 100,000 square feet.
