Just far enough from Tampa to feel secluded.
The emphasis here is on activity---biking, hiking and swimming, and most importantly golf and tennis. The resort draws business clientele for meetings, retreats and incentive programs, as well as families who want to enjoy both leisure and dining on-site. Four restaurants, a spacious spa and a Sports Village with a fitness center and regulation-size basketball court make for lots of choices. The property’s newest restaurant is Dempsey’s Steak House. Accommodations are roomy and well-kept. The bathrooms are large, and suites come with full kitchens. The two 18-hole golf courses were designed by Arnold Palmer. Forty-five tennis courts include five lighted for night play. The 82,000 square-feet of meeting space can accommodate groups from ten to 2,000. Although just 35 minutes from Tampa International Airport, the 480-acre grounds are home to a variety of Florida wildlife. Don’t be surprised to see a local critter wandering the fairways.
