Atlanta's historic Winecoff Hotel finds new life as a restored boutique property.
A boutique hotel now fills the once-empty brick frame of the old Winecoff Hotel, where a tragic fire took place in 1946. Completely reconfigured, the building has been returned to hotel service after years of being threatened by demolition. Immediately adjacent to one of the MARTA Peachtree Center station exits, the hotel offers a small, intimate bar and the New Terrace Bistro restaurant that specializes in using fresh, often organic ingredients. The 127 guest rooms rely on clean, spare design and muted earth tones for visual impact, and on well-appointed work areas for their appeal to the business traveler. The tenth floor, with additional security at its entrance, is a women-only floor. Within walking distance are the state's major sports venues, conference facilities and media centers, as well as excellent dining opportunities. There is a small workout facility on-site, but guests may obtain complimentary daily passes to BodyPlex nearby.
