A massive oceanfront resort with tropical wildlife and Diamond Head views.
Having celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2011, this hotel remains one of the largest oceanfront resorts in the world. With more than 2,500 just steps from a white sand beach, the property offers a staggering selection of attractions. The compound consists of five pools, over twenty restaurants and bars, daily activities such as hula lessons, the Camp Penguin kids’ club, more than 90 shops and so much more. But what makes this place special is that given its size, it never seems to lose its aloha spirit. The five towers offer various rates that make a stay affordable to most everyone. Choice rooms are located in the beachfront Ali‘i Tower with an exclusive concierge and complimentary hors d’oeuvres on Friday and Saturday evenings. But the most appealing rooms (in our opinion) are those in the fully renovated Rainbow Tower, with unobstructed Diamond Head, ocean and/or sunset views that make you feel like you’re drifting in the clouds. Book a room facing Diamond Head on a Friday night and you will have a spectacular view of Waikiki’s evening fireworks show. The resort also has a full-service Mandara Spa and even a collection of resident exotic birds, waterfowl, fish and turtles.
