Old-school Hawaii on a popular Kauai beach.
Built in 1938, this non-smoking, plantation-style inn is one of the oldest properties on Poipu Beach. Located about 30 minutes from Lihue Airport, it maintains a tradition of providing holiday travelers with romantic, historical accommodations at very reasonable rates. This is one of those relatively unknown lodgings that captures the true spirit of aloha. The bed-and-breakfast is located in a quiet, beachfront neighborhood with ocean, mountain and garden views. It is made up of a plantation house and adjacent vacation rental cottages. Accommodations feature hardwood floors, tropical-style furniture, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, local artwork and private lanais. The honeymoon suite has a wet bar, whirlpool bath and partial ocean views. The condo-style cottage units all have full kitchens. For guests in the bed-and-breakfast rooms and suites, every morning a tropical breakfast is served on a screened lanai, which makes a lovely start to a day spent relaxing on the beach, hiking in Waimea Canyon, surfing, scuba diving or checking out the local color in the nearby small towns.
