A fun and fabulous full-service resort for casual (but pampered) vacations in Waikiki.
Since its former Hawaiian Regent days, this has long been one of the more popular hotels along the beach. Located just across the street from Kuhio Beach (technically Waikiki Beach is a few blocks down), this hotel offers great service and amenities. It is walking distance from nightlife, public transportation, restaurants, shopping and entertainment, and is home to several noteworthy restaurants popular with locals as well as guests. Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar and d.k. steakhouse offer updated menus that feature fresh seafood and prime aged steaks. The lobby is gorgeous, with modern furnishings and a soothing blend of ivory and earth tones. The hotel has two towers with a total of 1,175 rooms and 135 suites. The best rooms are found in the oceanfront tower fronting Kalakaua Avenue and overlooking the beach and spectacular sunsets; the tower rooms were renovated with unique fabrics and modern amenities. As well, the property saw the addition of the one-bedroom Queen Lili‘uokalani Suite. The more moderate city view rooms in the second tower are well-appointed and comfortable. The Royal Kaila Spa offers facials, massages and other treatments to refresh and rejuvenate, as well as help ease sunburns and sore muscles. The pool is large, and evening entertainment is live and certainly Hawaiian in tone. The Marriott's towers can be seen from nearly anywhere along Waikiki, making the hotel one of the landmarks used to figure how far you've meandered down the beach.
