A refined historic hotel near Waikiki Beach on the waterfront at the Ala Moana Marina.
The landmark Ilikai was Hawaii's first high-rise luxury hotel when it opened in the 1960s and was made famous as the locale for several episodes of the "Hawaii Five-O" television series among others. It is not a beachfront hotel but occupies a boulevard location adjacent to the Ala Moana Marina, where boating aficionados while away the afternoons strolling by some of the most beautiful ships ever set afloat. It’s also conveniently located just a short stroll from Ala Moana Shopping Center, which boasts everything from Prada and Chanel to a Lego shop and Old Navy, along with an array of popular restaurants from upscale to casual. Beyond its location, the Ilikai is notable largely for its 703 good-sized hotel rooms, many with full kitchens and balconies, its fine ocean views and its spacious second-floor terrace featuring a nice swimming pool. The sports and fitness center has six tennis courts, and the hotel is home to an esteemed Italian restaurant, Sarento's Top of the I, which offers stunning, 30th-floor views.
