A charmer of a hotel featuring B&B-inspired hospitality and New England style.
The name of this hotel says it all. In fact, it even admits to the smallish size of some its 31 rooms on its website. But what it lacks in space it makes up for in New England charm. Even the maids here are decked out in Brooks Brothers uniforms. And the Simple Truth lounge recreates the area’s academic golden days, with thirteen-foot-high windows and a white Belgian limestone fireplace; this is a perfect spot for a glass of wine and plate of artisanal cheese. Among the amenities included in room rates are wireless Internet, weekday newspaper, coffee and espresso in the lounge and passes to Karma Yoga across the street. While the reconstructed 1880's façade is from the building’s origins as a carriage house, the setting is modern-day Harvard Square. You’re right in the middle of a busy college town, so this might not be a top choice during major events --- unless, of course, you’re in town for that event.
