A stately and possibly haunted mansion just steps from Albuquerque's historic Old Town Plaza.

Bottger Mansion of Old Town

A shimmering pink wedding cake of a mansion that has hosted such luminaries as Frank Sinatra and Elvis, the Bottger Mansion was built in 1912 and retains the elegance of that era. The house is said to be haunted and has been featured in a PBS documentary. Original details include ten-foot ceilings (some with ornate pressed tin), elaborate four-poster canopy beds, marble-tile bathrooms (some with whirlpool tubs), brocade drapes, hardwood floors, original watercolor artwork and beds covered with plush throw pillows and fine linens. Select accommodations have kitchenettes. From the mansion it's no more than a ten-minute walk to the many museums of Old Town, as well as several excellent restaurants, intriguing shops and the historic 17th-century San Felipe Neri Church. Hosts Steve and Kathy Hiatt are happy to make reservations and recommendations for area activities; they also prepare a lavish full breakfast each morning, which is included in the rate. Afternoon tea and lemonade, along with tasty sweets, are set out in the living room.
