A Victorian bed-and-breakfast in the heart of a residential neighborhood.
Owners Jill and Charles Abbyad were pioneers in the New Orleans' bed-and-breakfast movement, which came surprisingly late to the city. When they opened this property in 1987, the city had no B&B regulations. Since that time, they have steadily added rooms to their uptown home, a two-story Victorian a few blocks from St. Charles Avenue. Four beautifully furnished guest rooms and one cottage, all with private entrances, overlook a shaded courtyard. They feature traditional hotel amenities such as TVs and data ports. In addition to the personal attention lavished on guests, two of the inn's other pluses include its easy access to the St. Charles streetcar and the offbeat charms of Magazine Street, a quick walk away.
