Relaxation in a pretty, two-story, 18th-century inn.
This circa 1775 plantation home is surrounded by lovely rural countryside. It is recognized by the Durham Historic Preservation Society and has been renovated into a peaceful getaway for honeymoon, anniversary and business retreats. Magnolias and pecan trees, as well as birds and butterflies, populate the estate’s six acres. Accommodations include seven suites in the manor house, one cottage and one log cabin. Each comfortable room is furnished with a telephone and offers free wireless internet access. Moldings, wainscoting, mantelpieces and heart-of-pine floors are among the original fittings. Bach plays in the background while gourmet breakfast is served. Arrangements can be made with owner/chef Philip Teber for a special dinner for two.
