A homey, northwest retreat on the water's edge in the state capital.
This residential-looking house is ideal for leisurely family getaways. It offers two separate units, each of which features a fully equipped private kitchen for self-catering stays. The location is excellent, right on Puget Sound. The property has replaced the former Harbinger Inn, once located across the street. The Upper Deck is the gem of the two accommodations, with hardwood floors and a huge deck with views of the Sound and Olympic Mountains. It has four bedrooms and four bathrooms, and can easily sleep ten. It also includes a Jacuzzi, laundry facilities, cable TV and a barbecue. The Lower Deck offers more privacy. Tucked downstairs, this cozy hideaway has one bedroom and one bath. The furnishings can be eclectic---a red Oriental rug and clashing floral sofas in the living area. But the kitchen is country cute, with a painted yellow table and chairs. Guests enjoy the free use of canoes, bikes and kayaks.
