A luxury lodge in an excellent wine country setting.
Located on Seattle's east side (meaning east of Lake Washington), surrounded by the wineries of the Woodinville Wine Country, this small, understated lodge is a true escape from the city. Its two restaurants, The Barking Frog and The Herbfarm (the latter of which serves a nine-course meal with wine pairings and requires reservations months in advance), have made it a favorite with foodies. All of the 84 refined, mountain lodge-style guest rooms boast stone fireplaces, patios or balconies and beds clad in Australian lambs wool mattress pads. Upgrade to a Nice, Nicer or Nicest room and you will find 40-inch HDTV, complimentary high-speed Internet access, recycled slate work desks, regional wall art and designer kettles for morning tea. The hotel has proven such a magnet for corporate retreats that the Aerial Adventure Park was added for team-building exercises. There is a house spa on-site, and a hiking trail can be found nearby.
