A convenient B&B with the atmosphere of a welcoming home.
This bed-and-breakfast is comprised of a series of houses. Each house has three guest suites, which are decorated in contemporary style and named after heroes of The Alamo. The proprietor, Jerry Karkoska, is a direct descendant of one of the doomed freedom fighters who fought at the mission. Pine floors, high ceilings and balconies lend character to each of the suites, which are fully equipped with modern amenities, such as telephones, two color TVs and coffee makers. While the clientele boasts its fair share of travelers seeking a romantic getaway, it also includes business people looking for an alternative to the less atmospheric downtown hotels. Upgrades in 2013 included restoration of the balconies and front porches, as well as the addition of a fountain and garden. The property is located between the King William Historic District and the River Walk, and is within walking distance of many historic attractions.
