An art smart art hotel offering warm Midwest hospitality.
Set in the downtown Theater District, this first member of the Graves brand started life as a Le Meridien Art + Tech property. The hotel is contemporary and arty—not trendy in an Ian Schrager way, but stylish in a museum-worthy, timeless way. The lobby is an impressive cavern of geometrically pleasing wood and stone. The 255 bedrooms are lovely, with etched glass, handcrafted headboards, 42-inch plasma screen TVs, high-speed Internet access and warm touches such as cotton duvets and blonde wood to keep the look from being too cold. Bathrooms have free-standing shower rooms with rain showers and etched glass washbasins set on limestone tables. The hotel can host meetings and conferences of up to 1,500; there are even private screening rooms with stadium seating. Popular with locals is Cosmos restaurant, off the lobby.
