Country comfort in the Anderson Valley.
This little clapboard hotel sits in the heart of the beautiful and underrated Anderson Valley. The place bills itself as a "modern roadhouse" and has been completely renovated. Today the rooms and lobby evoke a country style that is clean, soft and polished. Each of the eight upstairs accommodations is individually appointed in a creative and whimsical manner. Standard amenities include private balconies and private bathrooms. Some rooms also have wet bars and extra space for a crib. For a more exclusive experience, there are four creekside cottages. At on-site Table 128, owner/chef Johnny Schmitt prepares family-style, prix fixe menus. There's also a wine bar that opens daily at 11 a.m. Activities in the area consist of wine tasting and exploring the beautiful Mendocino County coast. Most guests also enjoy lounging in the property's expansive backyard.
