Setting the standard for the next generation of great Palm Springs hotels.
Parker Palm Springs, once owned by Merv Griffin, was much more formal before it was rebranded and given its relaxed-cool vibe. It first turned heads several years ago after Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt did a photo shoot here to promote their film, and possibly their budding romance, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith." Just like its many celebrity guests, Parker Palm Springs has that "it" factor. The glam grounds are ultra-stylish and decidedly Palm Springs with hammocks, pétanque and many little out-of-the-way spots in which to socialize with friends or meet up with someone special. The Parker's 144 renovated guest rooms have a minimalist motif with hints of color set an against alabastar backdrop. PSYC, the resort's spa oasis, offers a menu of services for men and women. As for dining, choose from the in-demand Mr. Parker's, a modern-day speakeasy; Norma's, with its al fresco seating for breakfast and lunch; and the Mini Bar (the lounge, not the room amenity), where beautiful people congregate for cocktails and small plates. A pair of swimming pools (one family-friendly and another adults-only) provide a way to keep cool at this ultra-suave hideaway.
