This former motor lodge is now an affordable hotel with comfortable rooms and stylish outdoor spaces.
THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS UNTIL EARLY 2016. This former TraveLodge was once a magnet for '80s college coeds who flocked to the desert for spring break. Back then the pool deck looked like a casting call for a John Hughes film. Ah, what a difference a few decades can make. This old motel has been transformed into a mid-century oasis that is affordable and inviting. The fleet of buildings contains several rooms that offer clean lines with either tiled flooring or carpeting, French doors that swing open to balconies, modern furnishings and updated baths. The public areas are popular both day and night with a pair of oasis-style heated pools flanked with cabana beds and a ten-person whirlpool. Nearby is a barbecue, picnic area and fire pit, which all lend to the communal feeling. Pets are welcome for a fee.
