A historic home customized for a discerning B&B clientele.
When owner Cleo Pelleteri renovated this 1857 Greek Revival, she didn't so much restore the house as reinterpret it. The rambling, L-shaped structure still has gleaming hardwood floors, magnificent windows and interior millwork, but Pelleteri rearranged floor plans to incorporate such nice touches as large private bathrooms. This property sits off the beaten path in a vibrant and artistic neighborhood. The thriving nightclub scene on Frenchmen Street is a block away, and it's a brisk walk to French Quarter antique stores and restaurants. The house is decorated in neutral tones with well-placed splashes of bright color. The curtains, beds and sofas are extra-large, making them blend right into the high-ceilinged rooms. Six accommodations including suites are in the main house and servant's wing; beyond the garden is a cottage. Bathrooms are done in marble and have large, fluffy towels. Old oak trees and comfortable benches invite guests to relax on the grounds and to enjoy the courtyard and fountain-fed pool.
