St. James Hotel
Historic atmosphere in the heart of Red Wing.
Impeccable service and singularity are what the owners pride themselves on here. Complimentary Champagne is served upon arrival, and no two guest rooms are alike. The hotel was established in 1875, and each of its 61 authentically-appointed accommodations is named after one of the riverboats that frequently passed through Red Wing. Photos of the boats and their histories are displayed in their respective rooms. The lobby features a grand staircase and a service desk that recalls a fine, old-fashioned bar. Rooms are decorated with intricately carved beds, wooden shutters, balloon lampshades, patterned carpets and subdued wallpapers. Dine at the Port of Red Wing restaurant downstairs, and you’re guaranteed a memorable experience.
