A hotel that's continually reinventing itself.
When the original Aladdin imploded in 1998, Planet Hollywood (along with others) was planning a music-themed hotel/casino as part of the rebuilt complex. That project did not materialize, and the new $1.3 billion Aladdin debuted in August 2000. Planet Hollywood's perseverance ultimately paid off, though, and the Aladdin name is now history. But the new name isn't the only change. A $500 million makeover has resulted at present in 2,600 movie-themed rooms and suites boasting Panasonic high-definition plasma televisions. The Miracle Mile Shops at this hotel feature more than 170 shops and fifteen dining venues, and the 7,000-seat Theater for the Performing Arts has also been renovated. Along with a romantic wedding chapel and the luxurious Planet Hollywood Spa by Mandara, the 75,000-square-foot meeting space includes a Grand Ballroom and a full-service business center. Britney Spears is calling this property home for her two-year "Piece of Me" Las Vegas residency, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is behind the gourmet burgers at Gordon Ramsay BurGR.
