Don Gaspar Inn
Hidden gardens and charming rooms in a historic Santa Fe neighborhood.
This secluded compound is in Santa Fe's historic South Capitol district, just a couple of blocks south of the Zia-shaped State Capitol building and about five blocks south of the city's historic Plaza. It's far enough from the crowds to enjoy peace and quiet, but close enough that you can easily walk to great shopping and dining. The property comprises three different houses, each with its own architectural style (Arts and Crafts, Territorial, and Pueblo). Rooms are the quintessence of Santa Fe style, with Native American and Spanish Colonial furnishings, as well as fine artwork. A number of units have hot tubs, and a few have full kitchens. Hand-painted Mexican tiles, kiva-style woodburning or gas fireplaces, and French doors are other features that brighten up many of the rooms. The grounds are dotted with mature cottonwood and aspen trees, and lush floral gardens surround the buildings---some rooms have patios overlooking the greenery.
